Institutes Associated with the Faculty
The Legal Centre for Business & Technology is a not for profit, charitable society devoted to issues in business and technology law. It holds workshops and hosts guest speakers.
The Alberta Law Reform Institute, formed in 1967, is the primary law reform agency for the Province. The Institute was founded by the Law Society of Alberta, the Province of Alberta and the University of Alberta. It is funded by the Alberta Law Foundation and Alberta Justice. It is housed at the University of Alberta, with a satellite office at the University of Calgary, Law School.
The Canadian Institute of Resources Law is a leading national centre of expertise on legal and policy issues relating to Canada's natural resources. Since its establishment in 1979, the Institute has pursued a three-fold mandate of research, education and publication. The Institute initiates projects and responds to requests from the public and private sectors and from non-governmental organizations.
