  • Annual internal competition - Open to 2nd & 3rd year students only
  • Students register in teams of 2 participants
  • Rounds 1, 2, 3 & Semi-Final Round are scheduled to take place after 4:30pm

  • Competition Date: October 14, 2009 
  • Host Location and Moot Sponsor:  FMC Downtown Office, Calgary
  • Please note: FMC will be responsible for all team registration through their portal registration system - TBA at the Information Session in September

Western Canada (MacIntyre Cup) Trial Competition (credit)

  • Team Positions: 2
  • Annual external competition for Western Canada (first and second place teams go to Ottawa for Sopinka Cup Trial Competition in March) - open to 2nd & 3rd year students
  • Sopinka Problem and Official Rules 2010
  • Date: Feb 12-13, 2010 
  • Host Location: University of Calgary - Faculty of Law

Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition - Canadian Qualifying Competition (credit)

  • Team Positions: 4 mooters; 1 researcher
  • Annual external competition - open to 2nd & 3rd year students
  • Date: March 10-13, 2010 (dates confirmed)
  • Host Location: University of Toronto

The Canadian Labour Arbitration Competition (credit)

  • Team Positions: 2
  • Annual external competition - open to 2nd & 3rd year students only
  • Date: Jan 29-31, 2010 (dates confirmed)

FMC Gale Cup (credit)

Kawaskimhon Aboriginal Circle (credit)

  • Team Positions: 4
  • Open to all  2nd & 3rd year students
  • Annual external competition involving aboriginal law students from across Canada
  • Date: March 5-7, 2010 (dates confirmed)
  • Host Location: University of Ottawa

The Alberta Court of Appeal  (aka The Alberta Challenge Cup) (credit)

  • Team Positions: 6
  • Annual competition between the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta law schools - open to 2nd year students
  • Date: TBA [generally held beginning of March]
  • 2010 Host Location: University of Alberta

Blackstone Medals Debate (non-credit)

  • "BE IT RESOLVED THAT ......" 
  • Annual internal competition - open to 1st, 2nd & 3rd year students
  • Students register in teams of 2 participants
  • Registration Deadline: TBA
  • Round 1 - TBA
  • Round 2 - TBA
  • Round 3 - TBA
  • Finale - TBA, 12:30-2:00 pm - Light Reception after competition
  • Monetary Prize - $1,000 to each of first place participants
