LL.M. Specialization Policy (September 2003)

List of LL.M. Specializations:

One from the following list of specializations may be listed on the parchment and transcripts of students graduating from the thesis-based LL.M. program. No specialization need be listed on a student’s parchment or transcript.

  • Natural Resources Law

  • International Resources Law

  • Oil and Gas Law

  • International Petroleum Law

  • Water Law

  • International Water Law

  • Mining Law

  • Forest Law

  • Environmental Law

  • International Environmental Law

  • Energy Law

  • International Energy Law

  • International Trade Law

  • Aboriginal Law

  • Public Resources Law

Requirements for each specialization:

Each thesis supervisor shall determine, in consultation with the student supervised, which of the listed specializations, if any, most accurately describes the substantive content of the student’s thesis. The specialization shall be noted on the “Notice of Master’s Thesis Oral Examination” form.
