Transfering between graduate programs

Transferring between graduate programs:

Course-based to thesis-based LLM program transfers:

  • Students in the course-based LLM stream may, with the approval of the Graduate Program Director, transfer into the thesis-based stream if they received a grade of B+ or better in both of the compulsory Graduate Seminars and grades of B+ or better in all elective courses at the graduate level evaluated by research papers and taken for credit while enrolled in the course-based program. Credit towards the thesis-based LLM degree will be given for the two compulsory courses and for two graduate level elective courses.

Thesis-based to course-based LLM program transfers:

  • Students in the thesis-based program may, with the approval of the Graduate Progrma Director, transfer into the course-based LLM stream. Credit will be given for any course eligible for credit toward a course-based LLM

Course-based LLM to Certificate program transfers:

  • Students in the course-based LLM stream may, with the approval of the Graduate Program Director, transfer into the Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law program. Credit will be given for any course eligible for credit in the Certificate program in which the student has a passing grade.

Post-baccalaureate Certificate to course-based LLM program transfers:

  • Students in the Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law program may, with the approval of the Graduate Program Director, transfer into the course-based LLM program if they received a grade of B or better in at least two graduate level courses taken towards the Certificate. Credit will be given for any course eligible for credit toward a course-based LLM.
