In 2003, the Board of Governors of the University of Calgary approved the introduction of differential tuition fees for students entering the Faculties of Medicine and Law, and the MBA programs.
Annual JD tuition fees for 2010-2011 are approximately $12,970, which includes General Fees (Students' Union, Campus Recreation, Student Health, UPass, etc.). This annual tuition figure is based on a student enrolled in six courses per term. Tuition fees in the Faculty of Law are assessed on a per-course basis. The tuition fee for one course is $998.04 in 2010-2011. Additional information about fees and and costs is found in the University of Calgary 2010-2011 Calendar.
Non-JD students, including those in a graduate program in the Faculty of Law, who register in a JD course, must pay the differential portion of the tuition fees.
Increased student support is available in the form of awards, bursaries and differential fee bursaries.
