Ongoing Projects

The Public Interest Law Clinic will consider files that connect to the following goals:

  1. To maximize the ability of individuals and groups to participate effectively in decisions that affect the environment;
  2. To compel Alberta regulators to collect sufficient financial security to protect the public from the costs of the closure and remediation of resource extraction projects;
  3. To establish safeguards to prevent strategic litigation against public participation;
  4. To generate effective legal mechanisms that protect habitat threatened species need to survive;
  5. To improve every lever available in law to obtain information from public bodies;
  6. To remove legal and regulatory barriers to a just and sustainable economy, and;
  7. To generate opportunities for civil society organizations to intervene effectively in appellate cases.
