Student Ambassadors are having a great time at the event

Student Ambassadors

Our student ambassadors are here to help you get the information you need to make an informed decision about applying to, or accepting an offer, from us.

Who is an ambassador?

Ambassadors are current students with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Ambassadors can provide you with honest and thorough impressions and information about UCalgary Law and can be a great resource for you as you transition to law school.

Tours of the law school

Student ambassadors can provide you with tours of Murray Fraser Hall and key UCalgary buildings. These are excellent opportunities to explore the law school and to speak to current students about their experiences. Tours last about 60 minutes and begin at our Student Services Office, located at Murray Fraser Hall 2380.

**NOTE: In order to keep our campus community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, tours are postponed until further notice.**

Contact an ambassador

Send an email to law.ambassadors@ucalgary.ca to be set up with an ambassador and to ask your questions.

Please note that ambassadors are unavailable in December and April due to final exams.

When she’s not studying, you might find her attempting a new recipe, binge watching a sitcom, or spending time with her husband.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Jazz music. During that time I served as a representative in the students association as well as on the faculty council. As part of my role I helped organize and facilitate the student led orientation workshops and recruitment events throughout the year. My name’s Jesalyn and I am a 1L currently at UCalgary. I’m from Red Deer, AB but I graduated from The University of British Columbia in Vancouver with a bachelor of commerce, majoring in marketing. I was born in South Korea, but grew up in London, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta. I attended the University of Calgary for my undergraduate students in Health Sciences with a specialization in Biomedical Science. I did a lot of research during my undergrad, specifically in Meningioma, but quickly realized that research was not my cup of tea. I worked with a lot of interdisciplinary scholars in my lab and became fascinated by the law and how it applies in terms of new advancements and technology in the field of medicine. In my spare time I love cuddling with my dog with a good book, checking out new restaurants with friends (I’m an aspiring foodie), and travelling.

I grew up in a small town in Southern Alberta and did my undergraduate degree in Lethbridge. I enjoy playing hockey and golf in my spare time, and I am an avid watch collector. I wanted to come to law school because of the people I met within the legal community while living in Lethbridge. I had a hard time trying to find people who shared my ambition to study law, so I founded the U of L pre-law society as a way to get to know some people who shared my passion. As a result, I got the opportunity to learn a lot about the law school application process before I was able to gain any first hand experience for myself. I think that this was an integral part of my success in getting to law school, so now I'm looking to pay it forward and help more students realize their dreams at the U of C Faculty of Law.
